FOR the third year, Stanthorpe will join in a special event to raise funds for cancer patients.
Light the Night is a unique fundraising event that brings together community members in more than 140 locations to remember and reflect during a moving ceremony and short lantern walk.
The Stanthorpe event will take place on Friday, October 6.
The fundraiser, which kicks off at 5.30pm, will be held at the Lions Park, Quart Pot Creek.
Talented young local band Chasing the Fence consisting of Edmond Creevy, Zane Hume and Naomi Moore will provide entertainment before the official ceremony at 6.30pm.
Coordinator Angie Sims said the Stanthorpe Lions Club had jumped on board to again provide the sausage sizzle and the Leukaemia Foundation branch ladies would have a delicious bake sale on offer.
This year’s official ceremony will start with a special song performed by Joanne Barker.
