In the 19th century Warwick was an attractive destination for Irish emigrants. It beckoned them with opportunity to own land, earn an income and raise a family. They built churches and schools, formed community groups, joined the fledgling Australian army, nursed, taught, sang and danced their way into the Australian way of life.
You are invited to a Public Historical Talk (Gold Coin Donation) with local oral historian Pat Ryan and family historian Pauline Peel (nee Booth) for an afternoon of presentations and discussion. The presentations will cover the experiences of one family from Co Clare who arrived in the 1880s and the annual St Patrick’s Day celebration in honour of the country of their ancestors.
