GraniteNet Inc. Needs volunteers to keep our wheels turning, and if you fit or feel you could contribute to any of the available positions below, or even if you just want to fill some time or contribute to the community, we encourage you to sign up.

On Site Volunteer Positions available:
- Computer Mentoring – Seniors Training ~ Be Connected Program
A position exists for up to 6 individuals to assist in guided training or ‘mentoring’ as part of the Be Connected program, which is funded by the Australian Government. The applicants must be able to: Register as a mentor on behalf of GraniteNet Inc., follow a simple guideline workbook with clients, exercise patience, speak English clearly and assist persons over 50 with using a computer for the first time. Applicants must be available for a minimum 15 hours per week.
- Computer Assistance – General knowledge & people skills
A position exists for individuals to assist others with general computing questions on a daily basis for Windows 10, Windows 8 & Windows 7, as well as Apple and Linux queries, including tablets, smartphones and other digital technology. The applicants must have good people skills and reasonable computing general knowledge, and be able to contribute a minimum 5 hours each week.
- Computer Technician – Assisted or Standalone
A position exists for individuals to repair general system faults, both software and hardware in any of the following platforms; Windows 10, Windows 8 & Windows 7, as well as Apple and Linux devices, including tablets, smartphones and other digital technology. The applicants must have good diagnostic skills and reasonable computing general knowledge, and be able to contribute a minimum 10 hours each week.
- Marketing & Creativity Manager
A position exists for individuals to expand our marketability and to manage, produce and create successful creative projects. We have a load of ideas, and nobody to see it through, we also need your input. Position criteria is open.
- Committee & Volunteer Members
GraniteNet Inc. is always looking for new members for it’s committee and general operations, and if you feel you could contribute, we are happy to hear from you. Committee Membership fees are $5.00 p/a or $2.50 if you have a concession card. Volunteering as a general operations person carries no membership and no minimum / maximum hours.
Remote Volunteer Positions available:
- Website Data Entry & Researcher
A position exists for individuals to assist in general website Data Entry. Entry of Local Business information, events, writeups and other general information. No Minimum time allocated. Successful applicants must be proficient in WordPress page editing, have the skills to locate requested information via online sources and be able to work independently.
- Website Community Liaison – Southern Downs
A position exists for an individual who has the charisma to locate, speak to and register local community groups from the entire Southern Downs Region. The position includes reimbursement of approved Travel and / or associated Telephone use. Successful applicants must be proficient in digital communication methods, have their own computer, have the skills to locate requested information via online sources and be able to work independently. Minimum 5 Hours per week.
