A Plan for Pratten! Final comment invited through public consultation
A Plan for Pratten! Final comment invited through public consultation
23 April 2021
Southern Downs Regional Council is keen to capture and confirm community feedback on Pratten’s Urban Design Framework and members of the proud village are invited to attend the final workshop on Tuesday 4 May 2021 to share their thoughts on the draft plan.
After receiving initial feedback in December 2020, three core objectives were identified to drive the project and these include: reinforcing local identity, township improvements and upgrades and fostering a cohesive and active community.
Southern Downs Mayor encouraged the local community to step forward and review the final recommendations made by urban design consultants Ethos Urban.
“Urban design frameworks are integral to enhancing the functionality, liveability, character and spirit of an urban area and the initial workshop in Pratten unearthed some innovative and exciting ideas of how the village’s unique charm and identity can be enhanced and supported,” Mayor Pennisi said.
“Every step of the public consultation process is equally important in delivering the final vision and I hope the community embraces the opportunity to contribute to the plan before it is finalised.
“The Urban Design Framework Draft Plan opens an exciting door to Pratten’s future. Council looks forward to putting these latest recommendations on the table for comment and working closely with the local community to realise the village’s full potential.”
Council officers will host the workshop at the Pratten Public Hall between 4pm and 6pm.
Council has already completed Urban Design Frameworks in Wallangarra, Maryvale and Leyburn with the draft for Dalveen to soon be considered by Council.
