It is Stay Smart Online Week and you might have noticed things look a little different! We have reversed our website to black and white for the week to draw attention to cyber security. Many of our partners, which include some of Australia’s biggest organisations, have joined us in changing their websites and social media to black and white so we can reverse the threat of cybercrime, together.

 

 

 

Cybercrime is a billion dollar problem that impacts our business, our friends and our family. If we take these simple actions to keep ourselves, our families and businesses protected when connected, we can avoid the pain, money and time it costs to recover from cybercrime.

Stop cybercriminals from getting the keys to your life – lock down your online security today with these simple tips:

  • Passwords. Passwords are your first line of defence against cybercriminals. Make sure you use a different and strong password on all of your accounts. Add an extra layer of security with two-factor authentication.
  • Phishing. Phishing are fake messages that try to trick you into giving out your personal or financial details. If you receive a suspicious message, do not click on any links or open any attachments. Always think before you click.
  • Updates. Updating your software is one of the easiest ways to protect yourself online. These updates add new features, install bug fixes and fix security holes that could let cybercriminals in. Install software updates as soon as they become available. Better yet, set your system to auto-update.
  • Public Wi-Fi. Be wary when using public Wi-Fi. Without the right protection, cybercriminals could see your information, so don’t do online banking, online shopping or send sensitive information.
