GraniteNet Inc. has a number of Volunteer positions presently vacant, and is in need of volunteers to fill them.

1. Be Connected – Assistive trainer(s) for the over 50’s.

3 Positions are available for individuals who are willing to assist people over 50, including those with a disability with basic computing skills starter training, and additional online resource training as part of the Be Connected program being offered by GraniteNet Inc from the end of November 2017. This is an annually renewed ongoing role, and requires applicants to have some basic computing skills, ability to interact with others, and the ability to follow pre-set informational guides. A free police check is provided and required for each filled position. Blue cards are preferred, but not essential. (We can assist in aquiring Blue Card if needed.) A Training course for tutors is required and provided by the Be Connected program online.

Expectations – The sucessfull applicants must:

-submit a typed report via the Be-Connected web portal monthly, which provides asessment of the program.   
-attend the Be Connected training and associated webinars
-actively assist in promoting the Be Connected program.
-be able to commit a minimum 10 hours per week in-store.
-be able to work with others.

2. Computer Technician – Junior Apprentice or Experienced Person.

A volunteer position exists for an in-house junior computer repair technician, or an individual wanting to become more knowledged in computer diagnostics and repair. Experience is not required, but favourable. We are specifically looking for an individual to work under an existing experienced technician. This experience can ultimately gain the successful applicant future insight into prospective careers in the Information Technology field, as well as promote better self esteem.

Expectations – The sucessfull applicants must:

-be able to commit a minimum 5 hours per week in-store.
-be able to work with others.

3. Researcher – Website data entry

A volunteer position exists for a remote or in-house researcher to collect and input information about our region, it’s businesses and it’s recreational facilities for tourism based application. The individual will gain experience in WordPress editing, and a broader spectrum of data collection and analysis. Internet access reimbursement/subsidy available on request.

Expectations - The sucessfull applicants must:
-be able to commit a minimum 5 hours per week to data collection & input.
-be able to work indipendantly.
-be able to work from home or in-store.
-have their own computer.
-have their own internet access
