Condamine River Road remains closed

Condamine River Road remains closed

27 April 2021

Due to safety concerns for road users following the significant rain event experienced on the Southern Downs recently, the Condamine River Road will remain closed.

With flood recovery operations now underway, officers are assessing flood damage to roads and other Council infrastructure and reopening roads as soon as it is safe to do so.

Residents are reminded that Council’s Disaster Dashboard at http://disasterdashboard.sdrc.qld.gov.au/  remains a key point of truth for road closure updates.

Council will continue to monitor the conditions at Condamine River Road and will reassess the road conditions later this week.

Visitors to the Condamine River Road area should take care around water crossings which are subject to fast changing depths and flows after rainfall.

Access to Killarney via Boonah is still available through Spring Creek Road.

Council is mindful that this area is a natural treasure and the public road is part of the delicate ecosystem.

Further updates will be provided on the Southern Downs Regional Council’s Facebook page and website.
