Community Notice: Road works at Willi Street

31 May 2021

With the responsibility of maintaining more than 3,000km of sealed and unsealed roads and keeping them safe for all road users, Southern Downs Regional Council has a comprehensive schedule of continuing upgrade works.

Willi Street will undergo works from Wednesday 9 June 2021 to seal the gravel section between Lyndhurst Lane and Easey Street to reduce dust complaints within the urban footprint of Warwick.

Works are expected to be completed by 25 June 2021, however this is subject to change and weather dependent.

A Council spokesperson said local traffic will operate under restricted arrangements with appropriate detours and all road users are advised to follow the direction of traffic controllers, workers and signage during construction.

“We will undergo works to improve the road in this area and local residents will still have access to and from their properties using alternative routes,” the spokesperson said.

“We anticipate that there could be minor disruptions for road users and where possible, we will endeavour to limit and minimise inconvenience to the community.

“While road safety is everyone’s responsibility, Council is committed to building better, safer roads across our region for all road users, whether they are locals or visitors who travel here to enjoy everything that our unique locality has to offer.

“Improving the region’s roads and infrastructure remains a steadfast commitment of Council and we appreciate the community’s cooperation and patience during construction.”

Standard construction hours will be between 6.30am and 5.30pm, Monday to Sunday.
