Now that plastic bags are out you need something to carry your items in, make or buy some recycled bags.   Rummage through the linen closets of family, friends, or clean out your local op-shop for second-hand materials suitable for making  recycled bags.

Get together with above mentioned group and make Boomerang Bags! You can use our templates, or come up with your own designs. The bags can be given away to friends, family colleagues stashed in your car and handbag so that you’re never caught without a reusable bag when you need one.

You can BYO chicken, horse, pig food bag etc (we have plenty too) and we can show you how to make your bag.   Sewing bee have plenty of boomerang bags in various stages of production, with a range of sewing and non sewing jobs.

Tea, coffee, milk and biscuits provided. Feel free to bring snacks/lunch or other food for yourself or to share.   Stay a little or a while. Doors open 10am to 2pm. The sewing centre is out the back of The Summit Hall, in the original supper room. You can also browse the retail area and check out the ‘give and take’ area.

Donations accepted – sheets, doona covers, pillow cases, curtains, large rice bags, large onion bags, animal feed bags, bread/flour bags, coffee bean sacks ec.
